After spending 7 years at Queen Victoria School in Dunblane, I attended Glenrothes High for 1 year before leaving both school & home at the age of 17.
Edinburgh was my destination and Telford College looked after me for 3 months (no computers) before I took a job as publicity assistant at Theatre Workshop in Stockbridge. During this time I kept up my avid interest in photography and eventually was commissioned by Benchtours Theatre company to shoot production stills and a poster image for their show Ship Of Fools.
After my work appearing in The Scotsman, The List & The Guardian to name but a few… I then spent the next 3 years or so photographing just about every Scottish theatre and dance company there was at the time as well as working directly for The lyceum & the Traverse Theatre.
This work lead to me being commissioned as the Scottish photographer for The Face magazine in London.
I shot the likes of Irvine Welsh, Twitch & Brainstorm (DJs), more theatre companies, graffiti artists and celebrities.
More recently, among the corporate shoots for business publications and band shots, I have exhibited in such venues as The Scott Monument, The Filmhouse in Edinburgh, The Dental Practice Gallery in Glasgow, The Traverse Theatre and even the Compass pub in sunny Leith.
My work with The Proclaimers can be seen in their media over the past 10 years as well as a few album covers.
Now… my photographic work supports media design projects and print publication for our clients at bluemungus.
I will publish galleries here very soon.
